Oil Tank Pollution

Check your oil tank.

Leaking oil can do immense damage to the environment and water sources - when did you last check your oil tank. As a responsible householder, you are encouraged and required to check your oil tank on a regular basis.  Leaks on oil tanks, no matter how minor, causes pollution both localised and potentially wider if the oil has the potential to leak to a water course.

Oil tanks should be double bunded, such as a Harlequin oil tank, Tuffa tank or an Atlas oil tank and fitted by an OFTEC registered company. If you suspect a leak, or have suspect an oil leak has entered a water course - please contact the local water authority as a matter of urgency.
